The scholarship program in Guatemala, which supported its first recipient in August 2018, was based in the capital, Guatemala City, and awarded scholarships for the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. The project aimed to enable socially committed young people to pursue university studies, who in return engaged in their own projects addressing the needs and rights of the indigenous population. The scholarship covered tuition fees, material costs, and part of the living expenses in Guatemala City for the recipients. In addition, they received financial and non-material support for carrying out their own projects. For this project, Studieren Ohne Grenzen cooperated with the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala. At the end of 2024, the last recipient was supported through the Guatemala program. Afterwards, the project was financially closed and ended.
